John Robertson Architects approached Avco in 2024 to update their existing website to meet the requirements of their expanding business. JRA are a leading architectural practice based in Bankside London who work on the design and implementation of new build, retrofit and restoration projects in Central London.

As architects they had a clear vision for their website. In response, we took a minimal design approach to allow the architecture and photography to take centre stage. As a small design and development team we were quickly able to establish a strong working relationship with their in-house communications team. Key practice directors were involved in all decision making and we were able to respond quickly to their input throughout the process.

We set out to create a dynamic website and site structure, with options for layout customisation, various slideshow formats and support for different media types. A rich visual experience is present throughout the website, especially on the homepage where content can be carefully curated.

A streamlined, flexible editorial system was key, for which we created an intuitive, yet powerful interface and backend that is easily navigated. We ensured that editors could preview pages before publishing, enhancing confidence in the content creation and review process.

By taking a pragmatic approach and using widely adopted, modern frameworks and services we were able to offer JRA a competitively priced website within their given timeframe.
